Obituary:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Saturday, 19 November 1966:  Bathurst - The death of Joseph Charles Pitre occurred suddenly in St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton, Ont., at the age of 59.  Born in Bathurst, Mr. Pitre was the son of the late Ben Pitre and Helen Pitre.  He had resided here until 15 years ago when he moved with his family to Hamilton.  He was a carpenter by trade.  Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Pitre, also of Bathurst; three sons, Leo, Brantford, Ont., Edward and Anthony, Hamilton; three daughters, Mrs. Donald Jackson (Leona), Jeannette and Monique; and 10 grandchildren, all of Hamilton; his mother, Mrs. Helen Pitre, Green Point; one brother, John B. Pitre, Bathurst; three sisters, Mrs. Clement Guitard (Adele), Green Point; Mrs. Danzle Alquire (Helen), Cobden, Ont.; and Miss Frances Pitre, Somerville, Mass.; also a number of nephews and nieces.  Funeral and interment took place in Hamilton.  Attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Clement Guitard, Green Point; Mr. and Mrs. John B. Pitre, Bathurst; Mrs. Danzle Alquire, Cobden, Ont.

Obituary:  The Hamilton Spectator (Hamilton, ONT), Monday, 29 July 1996:  Pitre, Margaret (nee Roy) - On Friday, July 26, 1996 at Wentworth Lodge, in her 78th year.  Wife of the late Charles Pitre and mother to the late Joseph Leo Pitre.  Loving mother of Leona Johnson, Edward and wife Roslynn, Tony and fiance Christine, Jeannette Camilleri and husband Joseph of Caledonia, Monica Carr and husband Gary of Stoney Creek, Laurie Pitre and fiance Rick of Brantford.  Loving grandmother of Kevin, Karen, Wayne, Wendy, Lisa, Bernadette, Christopher, Joseph, Michelle, Howard, Greg, James, Geraldine, Daniel, Brian, Troy, Corey, Tygel, Terrah, Tara-Lynn, Charlie, Courtney and Adam.  Will be sadly missed by her brother Henry Roy and daughter-in-law Marie.  Visitation at the L. G. Joseph Leon Pitre:  The Hamilton Spectator (Hamilton, ONT), Tuesday, 6 June 1995:  Pitre, Joseph Leon - Died peacefully on May 29, 1995, at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta, in his 57th year.  Beloved husband to Marie, and father to Michelle, Bernice, Christopher, Joseph, Howard and Gregory.  Loving son to Marguerite and the late Charles Pitre.  He will be sadly missed by brother, Ed and wife Roz, sister, Monica and husband Gary, sister, Jeannette and husband Joe and sisters, Leona and Laurie and brother, Tony.  Memorial service on Saturday, June 10th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Winona, Ontario, at 1 p.m.

 

Edouard Joseph Pitre:   The Hamilton Spectator (Hamilton, ONT), Wednesday, 4 May 2016:  Edward Joseph Pitre passed away peacefully at the Clarion Nursing Home on his 75th birthday, May 2, 2016.  Devoted father of Danny (Mark), Geraldine (John), Brian, and Sarah (Craig).  Cherished "Grampa Froggy" of Ashley, Nathan, Dylan, Abby, Lucas, and Logan.  Beloved brother of Jeannette Camilleri (the late Joe), and Laurie (Rick).  He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Marguerite, and his siblings Leona, Leo, Monique, and Tony.  Eddy will be deeply missed by his lifelong friends, Larry Labell, Jim and Lynn Smith, Crayton Shanner, and Dennis Christie, their endless care and friendship meant the world to him.  He will never be forgotten by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.  Eddy was retired from Stelco after 33 years of service and was proud to be known as the all-around family handy man.  He will always be remembered for his joy and love of sports, especially hockey (Go Habs Go).  A special thanks to the dedicated staff at the Clarion who treated Eddy like family with the utmost compassion, dignity, and respect over the past 5 years.  Visitation will be held at P. X. Dermody Funeral Home on Thursday May 5, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday May 6, 2016 at 11 a.m.  Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Clarion Nursing Home, Activities Council.

Anthony Charles Pitre:  The Hamilton Spectator (Hamilton, ONT), Wednesday, 8 July 2009:  (photo)  Pitre, Anthony Charles (Tony).  It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Tony Pitre, in his 53rd year.  Beloved husband of Christine (nee Robinson).  Loving father of Courtney (Melissa), Adam (Jennifer) and Alisha Gardener.  Dear grandpa of Laira.  Dear brother of the late Leo Pitre (Marie), the late Leona Johnson, Eddie Pitre (Roz), Jeanette Camilleri (the late Joe), the late Monique Carr (Gary) and Lori Pitre (Rick).  Tony is survived by many nieces and nephews.  Tony will be lovingly remembered for his passion as a member of the Lively Dragon Boat Team.  Visitation will be held at P. X. Dermody Funeral Home on Thursday, July 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 10th at 11 a.m.  Cremation to follow.  Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

 

Monique Pitre:  The Hamilton Spectator (Hamilton, ONT), Wednesday, 29 September 2004:  Carr, Monique (Pitre) - At Chedoke Continuing Care Centre, on Tuesday, September 28, 2004, in her 51st year.  Beloved wife of Gary Carr.  Beloved mother of Tara-Lynn and Charles (Melissa).  Loving grandmother of Xavier.  Dear sister of Edward, Tony and Laurie Pitre and Jeanette Camilleri.  Sister-in-law of Eugene, Walter, Ernest, Brian, Ron, Kevin and Evangeline Carr and Anita Somers and Velma Tate.  Predeceased by her parents Charles and Marguerite Pitre, her brother Leon Pitre and her sister Leona Johnson.  Will be lovingly remembered by her many friends, especially Sue Mann, Cindy Leduc and Lynn Carr and by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Monique was an employee of Xental.  Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Prayer Vigil on Thursday at 8 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Winona on Friday, October 1 at 10 a.m.  Cremation will follow.  As an expression of sympathy, donations to the ALS Society would be appreciated by the family.
